Chilliwack Bruins Head Coach and General Manager Marc Habscheid today announced that 20 year defenceman Mitch McColm will be the team's Captain for the 2009-10 season. Habscheid made the announcement while co hosting the morning show on 89.5 FM The Hawk. 19 year old foward Shayne Neigum and 19 year old defenceman Brandon Manning will serve as Associate Captains.
McColm, who recently attended the Vancouver Canucks rookie camp was acquired by the Bruins from the Tri City Americans in April. Liisted at six-foot-four and 214 pounds, McColm brings a stay at home defence-first game to the rink. In 139 career games, the Calgary Alberta product has 22 points to go along with 259 minutes in penalties.

I smiled subconsciously when I read that... thats sooo awesome. I still can't cheer for the 'wack but I'll cheer for Mitch. :) Woop.
I hope he starts when Chilliwack comes to the Toy so we can all cheer like mad women when they announce his name.
I imagine he will, and I know I will totally be rocking my "Got Mitch?" shirt. maybe a sign :)
