woah, it's Wednesday already? That means GAME DAY LIVE BLOG!
The boys and their coach are in Chilliwack. Yes, that means Jim Hiller faces the franchise that fired him. It also means everyone's favorite Uncle Mitch faces off against his former team. I can guarantee it'll be an emotional game. That my not translate to fights and whatnot, but will for sure bring some intensity. As for fighting, we'll see if Mitch finally gets to beat the shit out of Tyler Schmidt... :)
Mitch says:
"This won't be as emotional as when we play down there (Jan. 10)," said McColm, who spent two seasons with the Americans before being traded April 30. "Seeing the fans, my old billets and playing in the old rink will be tough. I still talk to the guys pretty regularly and it will be different seeing them at the other end of the ice. Afterward, we'll hug, shake hands and swap a few stories."Coach says:
"Jim Hiller is coming back for the first time and I'm sure he wants to show everyone he can win. There are a lot of underlying stories other than Tri-City playing Chilliwack."
"I'm not uneasy," said Hiller, whose team is playing the second of five straight road games. "The game isn't about me. I'm emotionally invested in some of the players, but it's important we stay focused and play like we have been."
"We are in a groove," Hiller said. "We have played well at times and there have been times when we haven't. Consistently, we have been good and had big moments. We have balanced scoring and that brings confidence to the team and to the players." (Herald)

I'm going to the game tonight. Anyone else going?
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Hey guys
For all the ragging about Plouffe did anyone notice he was even and Schmidt was on for all four goals against. As much as Plouffe may not be at his best lately Schmidt schmitted the bed last night badly. And for that matter how many times does Reddick have to shit at the blue line on the power play before we get another d actually playing D instead of a foreward on the blue line during the pp.
An offensive D-man like Sbisa would be great on the PP.
Jussayin!
Any of the D would be better. Their primary job is to hold the blue line and keep the puck in the zone. Any offensive skill is a bonus but frankly keeping the forward on the blue line negates the power play advantage when the puck is constantly being cleared from the offensive zone.
@Anonymous #1--I was ragging on Shitty too LOL but you're right. Sometimes he has great games, other ones he's crappy. very frustrating. And he needs to shut up, quit yapping and whining to refs. As if they're going to change their minds, he's just drawing attention to himself.
@Wangler--I do not disagree with that statement, but I think the price is too high to get him. that's all
@anonymous #2 (and 1)--Reddick is risky on PP. He is, at times, a decent defensive forward, other times he sucks. Just like the rest of his game. I think enough of the AMS' defensemen have offensive power that putting a forward back there is not ideal, unless they are able to hold that blue line...which Pokey is not.
Nach used to do that too, go with 4 forwards on the PP. I don't necessarily hate the idea, especially when it works, but when it doesn't work, it's glaringly obvious and completely frustrating.
