Alexandre Pechurskiy went from having played just six games in the WHL this season to actually getting 36 minutes against the Vancouver freaking Canucks, in Marc-Andre Fleury's(notes) pads (Pechurskiy's pads from juniors didn't meet NHL regulations). He made 12 saves on 13 shots and was named the No. 3 star. Not that he knew what that meant.Yeah, Alex doesn't know what it means to be named one of the game's 3 stars, bitch please. He's been named a star in how many Americans' games now? Several. If you watch the video, he asks the guy what he's supposed to do when he goes on the ice. Obviously, in the NHL probably not going out to center ice to get your picture with Booster Club members. The kid's been thrown into his 1st ever NHL game, don't act like he's stupid. Aaaaaaaaaannnddd back to only reading PD when it's Wysh's writing.

I watched the game yesterday, and Pechurskiy played the puck beautifully. I watched for that specifically and I am officially impressed. The two instances which the play-by-play guys were really yammering about were both ones in which he was not pressured by any forecheck in his end, tho. We're used to watching him so closely in our end and with forecheckers. Still solid puck handling. Nice poke checks, and he had enough support that the rebounds he didn't control were reined in by his defensemen.
And his confidence and aggressiveness was out of the park. I hope he brought that home with him cuz it gave me more confidence in his game!
Darnit! I didn't even THINK to ask Chet about Laverne & Shirley! I'm a bad interviewer! I just asked stupid questions like - what's it like living on your own instead of with billets.
I need to get more creative. LOL
