Player recap--Johnny Lazo

I like to eat my words, they're tasty.  Last July I didn't know if Johnny would be the type of overage player the AMS needed.  How wrong I was.  I'm ok with being wrong--when it works in my favor of course :)

Paired with Shinny and Hughesman, Lazo had an outstanding overage season.  He and Shinny are two of the quickest guys on the team.  Also the smallest so they are effective at working their way into the corners and slipping away from checks.  Johnny's not afraid to be physical, even against guys a foot (or more) taller than him.  Not only that, he is tremendously strong so you'd think a small guy like him would get pushed off the puck too often, but he doesn't.  Talk about using your size to your advantage.

Johnny has always been fun to watch.  If you like hockey because of the speed of the game, then you loved watching this kid play.  Plus he loves the Toronto Blue Jays, gotta love that.

Lazo will definitely be missed.  I'm not sure what his plans are for the future but I sure hope it involves playing hockey.  He is a thrill to watch, and has always been great with the fans.  Best of luck in the future Johnny!

I tried to come up with a good Look-Alike for Johnny, but was stumped.  So I turned to My Heritage and plugged in his team photo, here's the results:

Uday Hussein?? I think My Heritage might be broken. Or stupid.
