Game day vs. Kamloops

Ok, I am going to try blogging via iPhone, we'll see how this goes, just don't expect much.

As far as last night, meh. I kinda thought Spokane looked hungrier, Spokant disagreed, and the more I thought about it, it wasn't hunger that was missing (not completely anyway), it was mental sharpness, mistakes were made and the Chiefs were insanely opportunistic. They jumped on those errors like hungry wolves on a rabbit. Or whatever hungry wolves eat.

Comments by coach and Wilgosh in the Herald seem to each that, you'll have to read it on your own, I don't see where or how to insert links.

So tonight they're back to work against the red hot Kamloops Blazers who, with their win last night, have taken over the top spot in the league.

Alright, I think that is sufficient enough a post for today, I prefer my computer though.

I'll agree that they didn't seem to play with the desperation of a team who has lost more games than they've won lately. But I don't think they played badly. Comrie looked pretty solid until the 3rd and even then, two of Spoke's goals were just flukey. Ams had a TON of good chances, just could not get any luck. Certainly wasn't for lack of trying. That is the best game I have ever seen Mac Engel play, though early in the game he was giving up a ton of rebounds. There just wasn't anyone there in front of the net (why?) to pick them up.

It's probably just coincidence, but I do find it interesting that this slump has come so quickly after the trade deadline. Not that anyone should have been that worried about getting traded with how well the team is doing, but I would still imagine there is something to knowing they're "safe" now.

Maybe they should go back to playing like they don't want to traded.

I agree that it was probably Engle's best game ever, certainly his best in our rink.

Seriously, when is the league going to start penalizing the refs for missing obvious penalties while they are staring right at the player while the offense is being committed. I feel that these last two games were stolen from the Ams.
