Game Day vs Seattle
A rematch between the teams that met on Sunday where it was the Brendan Shinnimin show. He is en fuego.
"That's pretty crazy to have a month like that," said Shinnimin, who leads the WHL scoring race with 115 points. "It takes a lot of things to go right for that to happen. You have to have the bounces, and credit to Hughey (Adam Hughesman) and (Patrick) Holland as well, helping me out. You have to keep going and pushing every game."
"I used to score a lot of goals and have a lot of fun when I was younger," Shinnimin said. "That's how I've been approaching this -- we work hard, but have some fun."
"It's great to be part of that with Shinny," Hughesman said. "It has been a lot of fun. First, playing five years for one team in Tri has been pretty special to me and my family. Everyone knows it been a pretty special month for Shinny. Me, Holly and Shinny have some chemistry right now. We just have to keep it going. We aren't satisfied yet."
"Growing up, we were always at the top of the scoring list," said Shinnimin, who grew up playing hockey with Hughesman in Winnipeg, Manitoba. "Being 20, on the same line and getting 110 points is nice. He's worked really hard and it's nice to see him get that. Holly is pretty close (95 points). We'll try to get him there, too." (Herald)
Drinnan is calling this month Shinnuary--I like it.
You will have to excuse Brendan Shinnimin if there are tears in his eyes when February comes to an end on Wednesday night.
“When I started scoring a bunch of goals,” the Tri-City Americans’ 20-year-old forward said Monday evening, “I thought I might as well keep shooting.”
He has done exactly that; in fact, the Winnipeg native has shot his way to the top of the WHL scoring race.
That’s what happens when you put up 41 points in a month. That’s right! He has 23 goals and 18 assists in 13 games this month. And there still is one game to be played.
In his latest performance, Shinnimin scored the game’s first four goals and set up the other as the Americans beat the host Seattle Thunderbirds 5-1 on Sunday night.
“It’s been pretty crazy,” Shinnimin said. “I’m just shooting the puck and it’s going in right now.”
Has he done anything differently?
“I’m just trying to play a pro style of game and everything is falling into place,” he said. “I’ve been looking to shoot a lot.”
He has scored goals in 10 straight games, with 21 goals in that stretch.
In his last four games, he has 19 points, 11 of them goals. That includes Sunday’s four-goal game as well as two earlier three-goal efforts. (Taking Note)

Dear assholes who are so unhappy in their own lives that they can't stand to see anyone else experience happiness, and who are riding that stick up their ass so hard that they are offended by so much as a dirty look: Thanks for ruining our boys' celly. I can't wait until someone comes along and sucks the joy out of your life. *insert actual vulgar gesture here*
No love,
Me.
