Vs. Calgary

Good God.

After two the Americans are out shooting Calgary 21-11 but Hitmen lead 5-1.

This is ugly. I don't even know where to start. Yes I do, the power play. There's no power and not a lot of play, unless you're the opposition. I don't even know how long it's been (seasons) since the pp has looked so abysmal. Like, can they decline the penalty?

LLK let in four before coach put Trombley in. Then Dow got mad, that was hawt.

Look, I GET IT. They were never supposed to get beyond middle-of-the-pack this season, they have had sone luck, a lot of it on the road. They have also been plagued more with injuries than I've ever seen before--more long-term injuries. That makes creating any sort of chemistry difficult. Add in the loss of Coms and a backup with no (WHL) starter workload experience. I GET IT.

I would love to not be frustrated by it, but I am and I truly believe that is a testament to the program Bob has built. As fans we've seen a lot of winning over the past few years and we've come to expect it. Has it created unrealistic expectations? Maybe, who knows. I've always maintained (and I do believe) as long as they're working hard night in and night out, I'm mostly happy. But wins are nice.

On a much more positive note, I had a lovely chat with the Driedgers. I'd met them years ago when Chris was goalie here, really wonderful people. So sweet and nice. They said they'd be reading, so hi Driedgers!!!

Ok, the third is starting, hope the bleeding has stopped.

That game was awful and very frustrating to watch. I want to be angry at someone but I know they are doing the best they can and all the injuries certainly are not helping. Why does Calgary have so many of are players? Kidding I know why so remember that people when you are calling for a bunch of trades to "go for it".
